Our Mission
Making Islamically adherent estate planning accessible and affordable for Muslim families in California.
Every Muslim Family Deserves an Estate Plan That Honors Their Faith
Your Faithful Legacy was founded with a clear purpose: to make Islamically adherent estate planning accessible and affordable for Muslim families in California.
We believe every Muslim family deserves an estate plan that honors both their faith and their legal rights — without having to choose between the two.
Our mission goes beyond accessibility — we want to encourage charitable giving (sadaqah jariyah). Giving while we’re alive is hard enough, but your estate plan gives you one more chance to give and leave a lasting impact: upon your passing. That’s why we created the Charitable Refund Program — include a charitable bequest in your trust, and we’ll refund the entire $500 plan fee.
Why Generic Estate Plans Fall Short
Many Muslim families in California fall into one of two situations — both of which can have serious consequences for their families.
No estate plan at all: Without a trust or will, California’s intestacy laws govern how your estate is divided. These laws do not account for Islamic inheritance principles, which means your assets may be distributed in ways that conflict with your faith and your family’s expectations.
A generic estate plan: Standard estate planning templates and services typically don’t address Islamic requirements such as faraid distribution (prescribed inheritance shares), wasiyyah (charitable bequests), or the prohibition of interest (riba). Without these considerations, your estate plan may inadvertently violate Islamic guidance.
Did You Know?
- 1Over 60% of American adults do not have any estate plan.
- 2Without a trust, California probate can take 12–18 months and cost thousands in fees.
- 3California intestacy law distributes assets based on legal relationships — not Islamic inheritance principles.
- 4A properly structured revocable living trust can honor both Islamic guidance and California law.
